My Doula Story
The first birth I attended was when my sister had my niece, and, as someone who rarely cries, I must admit I shed some tears. It was such an exciting and beautiful night. But I knew it had been a stressful and painful experience for my sister. She told me that I had been a natural when supporting her, and said I should consider becoming a doula. I had never even heard of a doula before, so I decided to do some research. I was very intrigued by the concept of doula work.
Eventually, I decided to take my first birth doula training, and a few years later, I re-trained, adding fertility and postpartum services. Now, I love supporting expectant, new, and existing mothers through their journeys. I am working on my certification and planning to offer specialized services in fertility and loss. I am passionate about natural fertility, home births, supporting the family unit as a whole, and postpartum work.
